Question Recieved: It still haunts me that you were unable to answer a simple question. I'm not sure why. Perhaps it is because you blog about life and your beliefs but when it came down to answering a question that perhaps made you uneasy...you bailed. It is easier to celebrate America's "independence" than reflect on the price paid by those who were here first. Sorry if asking what I did took you out of your carefully constructed comfort zone. Like most people, you just didn't want to think about it.
I think that it’s both ok and good to celebrate American exceptionalism and that doing so does not in any way take away from a clear recognition that this country has made many mistakes in the past and in fact continue to do so to this very day. I can not undo my own personal mistakes from my past. I can not become a better man simply by focusing on these mistakes but by understanding the why and learning. Same for our country. Learn, grow, change … This is courage. This is my America!
